Wingfield Development and Carteret Savings and Loan developed Boca Gardens from the mid-eighties to the late eighties. Boca Gardens is a subdivision of Boca Raton. The town home portion was constructed during the first through fourth phases, while the single family homes comprised the fifth. The Boca Gardens community spans from U.S. 441 east to Lyons Road south of Clint Moore Road.
The community has a active seven-member board including four directors, one secretary, one treasurer and a president. Events around Boca Gardens include seasonal options like the Memorial Day Party at the Boca Raton Marriot which benefits charities such as those for autism. Other recreational activities in the area include:
- Sugar Sand Park: One of the most popular attractions in the area. Includes Children's Science Explorium, Field House and Willow Theater.
- Gumbo Limbo Nature Center: Includes new Sea Tank Pavilions where native fish, sharks and the five-pound Florida lobster named Butter.
- Boca Museum of Art: Located in Mizner park, two stories, various types of art including glass, a collection of work by artist Red Grooms.

- Mizner Park: Expansive local park which includes foot, movies, a museum and concerts.
Private schools include Boca Preparatory International School Hillel Day School, Donna Klein Jewish Academy, St. Andrew's School and the Spanish River Christian School. Public schools within the Palm Beach Country School District include Whispering Pines Elementary, Sunrise Park Elementary School,, Sandpiper Shores Elementary School, Coral Sunset Elementary and Calusa Elementary.
